>Once the gMail integration can do things like link the logged activities to the “What” relationship (Accounts, Opportunities, Cases) as well as the “Who” (Leads & Contacts), I will be much more likely to use it.

I agree with that, Scott. One needs to be able to relate the email as an activity to an Account or another "what" record in addition to Leads/Contacts.

What's your sense? - think this feature will be released within a year? I would think so since now you're left having to choose between the native email component and Gmail.

I set up the Google Apps. The Docs Notes and Attachments section of all objects is too wide and changed all my contact, lead, campaign pages. I contacted Salesforce support and they said the problem could not be replicated on their computer so the problem is with me or Google. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't everyone have this problem? I didn't do anything but activate the Google Apps. It installed all components that Salesforce and Google created. Has anyone else had this problem?

Pretty much sums it up for me too. I haven't tried everything. I was most interested in exporting reports to a Google Spreadsheet. I thought this would be useful in sharing reports with non-Salesforce users. I had not used Google Spreadsheets before, I am so entrenched in Excel as you mentioned. First of all, it took a really long time to get the report into Google, and my computer was frozen during that time. Maybe with a smaller report this would not be an issue. Next I realized there is no macro capability in Google spreadsheets (unless I missed it ) We rely heavily on that. I am somewhat intereseted in the calendaring part, but I have not had time to play with it yet.

Same for me on Trillian, although I like the Google Talk client better.
