Just echoing the post from the ADN Blog.

  • The 8.0 API documentation was updated and posted. (link)
  • The AJAX Toolkit will be out of beta with Winter 07 and the documentation was posted (link). Usage of the beta toolkit will still work, but changing to the production toolkit will provide better performance and will allow you to take advantage of new enhancements as they come out.
  • Tech Note “What’s New in Apex Web Services API Winter ’07” (link) provides an overview of the API changes and considerations in moving your integrations to the 8.0 API.

If you only care to follow 1 link, the main Documents page on ADN is the place to look.

Winter Release on Jan 12, 2007

As was reported before me (salesforcewatch, salesforce collective), the Winter release looks to be planned for Friday, January 12. I assume they will take that weekend to get it up, running and ready for Monday, the 15th.

The email I received states they will begin at 6:00pm pacific time on the 12th and end 2:00am on the 13th. I assume the exact times will be different for their different servers. The email I received was for NA3.

RSS feeds for ideas.salesforce.com

In my previous post, I mentioned how Salesforce posted a new site called ideas.salesforce.com that allows you to vote and comment on upcoming features in the Winter ’07 release.

There are only a handful of items up there already. Below are links to the Feedburner RSS feeds for all new products that get posted. Subscribe and keep up with the action!
