Searching the Salesforce forums

Since the new search rolled out on the Salesforce forums, I have had problems finding things. The format of the search results is a bit hard to follow in my opinion and I was very used to the old format. For example, I liked seeing the author’s name right there in the results. I figured out the URLs for the old search pages and I thought I’d pass them along.

Enjoy.

Upside Outcomes – Assets For Sale

Gareth Davies, owner of Upside Outcomes, announced that he is selling the assets of Upside Outcomes. He has accepted a senior position with one of the big four in the UK.

The assets of Upside Outcomes would enhance your service offering by providing:

  • A ready made process for acquiring new leads
  • Proof of ability to provide service (pre-packaged ready-made software)
  • On-going license revenue to provide stability and enhance lumpy service work.

Gareth will be at dreamforce (and available before and afterward for a day or two as well) so if you are interested in acquiring the company, or some of its assets, please contact him at sales@upside-outcomes.com and you can arrange to provide further information.

Read his full post here. Congratulations on your new position Gareth and good luck! See you at Dreamforce!

Arrowpointe on Twitter

twitter.pngI have created a Twitter account for Arrowpointe. Follow it at http://twitter.com/arrowpointe. A direct RSS feed can be found here.

This will be an informal line of communication. I have it hooked up to my IM, so I am more likely to post nuggets of info about Salesforce.com as I am learning it rather than saving things for a longer post or, perhaps, forgetting to post them. It will probably be relatively active during Dreamforce too. Use of it will probably evolve a little as I get used to this mini-blogging thing.

My last 5 “tweets” also appear on the right-hand side of this blog.

Replicate Salesforce Schema to Oracle or MySQL

Mike Simonds released 2 scripts over the past few days that will create copies of your Salesforce schema into MySQL or Oracle databases. I haven’t tested either of them, but I think this could be pretty handy. Of course, you’ll need to have additional scripts actually bring your data over from Salesforce to these databases, but this is a start. Learn more about the scripts using the links below.

If you try these, feel free to comment here about how it went. If you actually want to let Mike know about your use of the scripts, you could submit replies on his site or at his forum postings about the functionality (Oracle, MySQL)
